Workshop formats for schools

Girls' cohort workshops

The most requested format: awareness, boundary-setting, voice and practical escapes taught in a supportive, confidence-building environment, with scenarios written for teenage realities rather than action movies. Popular for girls' schools and Sec-level cohorts.

Wellbeing week sessions

1 to 2 hour workshops that slot into student wellbeing programmes: stress-releasing physical activity, assertiveness skills and the board breaking moment as a literal breakthrough metaphor students remember.

Post-exam workshops

High-energy sessions for the Sep to Nov window, running class by class or level-wide with rotating stations. Pairs well with our wider post-exam menu.

Assembly demo

A taekwondo demo team performance with board breaking on stage: a low-cost way for your school to preview our coaches before booking a full programme, and an assembly students actually watch.

Why schools pick us

Built by educators of children, not bodyguards

Plenty of self-defence outfits teach adults tactical moves and offer schools a softened version. We come from the opposite direction: our coaches teach 1,500 children and teens every week, so age-appropriate pacing, safe partner work and classroom management are the foundation, not an adaptation. The format is non-contact, the framing is confidence and awareness rather than fear, and the board breaking finale sends every student home with proof they are stronger than they thought.

Student self-defence questions

Is the workshop safe for all students?

Yes. The format is non-contact: techniques are practised on pads and in controlled partner drills where nothing lands on a person. Coaches are First Aid certified and scale every drill to the group.

How long is a workshop?

From a 1-hour assembly-slot session to half-day cohort workshops. Most schools run 1.5 to 2 hours per group, rotating classes through the day.

Can every student really break a board?

Yes. Coaches teach the technique step by step and match the board to each student, and the classmates cheering the most hesitant student through their break is reliably the best moment of the session.

Do you run girls-only sessions?

Yes, and they are our most requested school format. We can assign coaching teams and tailor scenarios accordingly; discuss preferences when booking.
