How to be an NROC coach in Singapore
Want to coach but not sure where to start? Contact Momentum Academy. Whether you are starting from scratch or already have some certificates, we can guide you through the qualifications and application steps for your sport.
1. Tell us your background
Share the sport you want to coach, your experience and any qualifications you already hold. You do not need to have everything ready before getting in touch.
2. Understand your next steps
We can help you identify the relevant coaching courses and requirements, such as SG-Coach training, Standard First Aid with CPR and AED, and Safe Sport certification. The route depends on your sport and existing qualifications.
3. Get guidance on registration
We can explain the documents and steps involved in applying for NROC membership, and discuss coaching opportunities that may suit you once the relevant requirements are met.
NROC is Sport Singapore's National Registry of Coaches. We provide guidance; courses, assessments and registration approval remain with the relevant training providers and authorities. Guidance reviewed on 3 November 2026.
Coaching jobs: common questions
Do I need NROC membership for every coaching job?
Requirements depend on the sport, programme and client. For physical sports CCAs in schools, ActiveSG's official guidance specifies valid NROC membership, Standard First Aid and separate MOE instructor registration. Contact us to understand what you need for your intended role.
Is MOE instructor registration the same as NROC?
No. They are separate registrations. Having NROC membership does not automatically register you as an MOE instructor. Tell us the status of each so we can assess suitability for the relevant programme.
Can you help if I do not have a coaching licence yet?
Yes. If you are looking to get your coaching qualifications or NROC registration, contact us with your sporting background. We can guide you on the relevant courses, certificates and application steps. You will still need to complete the required training and obtain approval before taking on roles that require registration.
Can I enquire if I am still completing my qualifications?
Yes. Tell us what you have completed and what is in progress. We can help you work out the next steps and discuss suitable opportunities when available.
What are the coaching rates and working hours?
These depend on the role and assignment. Include your expected rate and availability in your enquiry. Ask us to confirm the fee, session duration, preparation duties and travel arrangements before accepting an assignment.
Where would I coach?
Momentum Academy delivers programmes across Singapore. Share the areas you can travel to and any travel restrictions. The venue and schedule will need to be confirmed for each assignment.
